Traditional horse-drawn carriages line the downtown streets to show the breathtaking Christmas lights as Goldsboro "Lights Up Downtown". Jet noise rattles the air as the "Wings Over Wayne" gets under way celebrating Seymour Johnson Air Force Base. The Pickle Festival drawing crowds from near and far, the Paramount Theater lighting up as our actors and actresses perform, these are just a few of the things that tell you something of Wayne County. Our little corner of the world has an extremely strong sense of pride in our community, and has since its formation in 1779.
